Boards & Committees

Council-Manager Form of Government

The Town of Indian Trail operates as a council-manager form of government; that is, the Town Council establishes the Town's policies which are then carried out by the Town Manager and Staff.

There are a number of Town Boards and Committees which discuss various Town issues in detail, making recommendations to Town Council on how to proceed on a given topic. Residents who are experienced in pertinent subject matter and who are dedicated to giving their time and experience to address these issues are encouraged to join one of these Boards or Committees.

Boards & Committees

Several boards and committees have been established to serve Indian Trail:

  • The Planning Board reviews future growth within the Town and ensures consistency with current plans and regulations. The Board typically meets on the third Tuesday of every month.
  • The Tree Advisory Board focuses on Indian Trail's tree canopy. It follows the Planning Board meeting on the third Tuesday of every month.
  • The Board of Adjustment hears and decides appeals and interpretations of the Town's Unified Development Ordinance. The Board typically meets on the fourth Thursday of every month.
  • The ABC Control Board is responsible for operating the Town's two ABC retail stores. The board typically meets the third Thursday of every month at the Indian Trail ABC Board #180, 5880 U.S. 74 East in Indian Trail.
  • The Parks, Art, Recreation and Culture Committee focuses on the Parks and Recreation programs and options offered in Indian Trail. The Committee meets every other month on the even months of the year (February, April, June, August, October, and December).
  • The Stormwater Advisory Committee focuses on stormwater issues in neighborhoods and roadways. The Committee meets quarterly (January, April, July, and October).

Meeting documents for Boards & Committees are available in the Agenda Center. Check out the Online Calendar for specific meeting dates.
