Why is the Town Conducting the Indian Trail Comprehensive Plan Update?

Indian Trail is undertaking an update of the Comprehensive Plan adopted in 2005 and last updated in 2013.  North Carolina state statutes require that a local government must "reasonably maintain" the comprehensive plan.  After seven years since the last update and incredible growth in the area, it is time to revisit this guiding document.

For questions or comments, the staff contact is Tim Jones, Senior Planner in the Planning Department, at

Comprehensive Plan Update Status

The update process is underway and we are currently in Phase 4 (see "Timeline" for schedule).  Due to extension to the Community Survey period in Phase 2 early in the process and other needs, the schedule has had to be adjusted.  Stay tuned for upcoming steps/meetings as the plan is completed.
