Indian Trail celebrated its Centennial Birthday party on March 10, 2007 at the First Baptist Church on Indian Trail-Fairview Road. The event was held from 2:00pm until 5:00pm and included remarks from keynote speaker U.S. 9th District Congressional Representative Sue Myrick, recognition of the town's oldest citizen, Mrs. Wilma Kiser, who is 100 years old, and recognition of the town's newest citizen born in 2007, Anthony Delano Beardsley.
More than 200 local residents enjoyed the festivities, including music from the Sun Valley High School Concert Band, entertainment from local elementary schools, delicious food donated by local restaurants and food vendors who represented a "Taste of Indian Trail", and displays from local schools, civic groups and businesses. Children enjoyed face paintings, hayrides and clowns, while antique tractors, cars and farm equipment were on display in the church parking lot. This was a birthday shared by many and shared with pride in the hearts of those who call Indian Trail their home.
