Bursting to the brim, 26 big boxes of stuffed animals, dolls, RC cars and much more were delivered to the Union County Christmas Bureau recently by the Town of Indian Trail and its partners in the Holiday Heroes program.
Holiday Heroes collects toys throughout the weeks leading up to Christmas to be donated to children in need across Union County. The Town partners with the Hemby Bridge, Bakers and Stallings Fire Departments, as well as the Indian Trail Bureau of the Union County Sheriff’s Office and numerous businesses across town to collect as many new, unwrapped gifts as possible. Indian Trail Parks & Rec team members Hayden Kramer and Susan Didier helped deliver the toys to the Christmas Bureau this week, as the department has worked to collect toys at recent Town events and festivals.
“One of the greatest things about the holiday season is that we are often reminded in numerous ways of the generosity of our community,” Indian Trail Director of Communications Mike Parks said. “To look at all these toys, and know that each one of them is going to make Christmas that much more special for a child in our area – it really warms your heart to be part of a community that cares so much for each other.”
