Indian Trail’s active senior group, the Prime Time Players, will team up with the Indian Trail Bureau of the Union County Sheriff’s Office and Safe Kids NC next week to safely collect unused and expired medication.
Interested residents can visit Town Hall on Wednesday, March 20, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, to drop off medications that are no longer needed. Doing so can keep medications from falling into the wrong hands, as medications are one of the leading causes of accidental poisoning deaths among children. Throwing unwanted medication in the trash, or flushing it down the toilet, also can have unintended consequences.
“We hope everyone who has expired or unused medication sitting around their home will take this opportunity to get rid of it in a safe and easy way,” Indian Trail Arts & Culture Program Coordinator Susan Didier said. “And afterward, we hope they will stick around and enjoy our Coffee & Cards program, which is held every Wednesday at Town Hall.”
Indian Trail Town Hall is located at 315 Matthews-Indian Trail Road.
