March is National Youth Art Month, and the Town of Indian Trail would like to celebrate some young and talented local artists!
Each year, the Town hosts a Student Art Show that features art from 10 local elementary schools. This year, the art show will take a different format with select pieces being chosen by local art teachers to be displayed at the Town Hall, beginning today, March 16, and running until the end of the month. The pieces will be displayed in the lobby of the Town Hall during normal business hours for the community to enjoy. The works will also be highlighted via social media.
We are already looking forward to the 2022 Student Art Show where, once again, the walls of the Town Hall will be transformed with beautiful, majestic creations by the up-and-coming leaders of tomorrow.
This year, the Town is thrilled to display pieces by four talented artists. These include:
- “Whimsical Cat Family” by Ashleigh L., fifth-grade from Metrolina Christian Academy. The piece focuses on felines and playful patterns.
- “Koi” by Darlyn G., fifth-grade from Indian Trail Elementary School. The piece is a composition of balance with tempera paint and ink.
- “Origami Sculpture” by Mason F., fourth-grade from Stallings Elementary School. The piece is a unique collection of origami providing a whimsical 3-D landscape.
- “Recycled Beauty” by Sarah N., fifth-grade from Porter Ridge Elementary. The piece is inspired by famous artist Louise Nevelson; re-purposing trash into treasure!
