Indian Trail is hosting its spring blood drive on Tuesday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Carolina Courts (240 Chestnut Parkway). To schedule an appointment, visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/give.html/drive-results?zipSponsor=IndianTrail or call 1-800-RED CROSS.
For those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine, there is typically no deferral time needed before giving blood has long as they are symptom free and feeling well at the time of donation. For more information on the COVID-19 vaccine and blood donor eligibility, visit https://www.redcrossblood.org/donate-blood/dlp/coronavirus--covid-19--and-blood-donation.html.
According to the Red Cross, blood donation is a safe process, and people should not hesitate to give blood. At each blood drive, Red Cross employees follow thorough safety protocols.
If you are in good health, please consider donating.
The American Red Cross will also be doing no-cost COVID-19 antibody testing on all donations.
We would like to thank the American Red Cross for their partnership and Carolina Courts for generously hosting the event. The Town will host two more blood drives this year scheduled for Tuesday, September 7, and Tuesday, December 14.
