The Indian Trail Town Hall will be closed on Monday, June 20, in observance of Juneteenth. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, June 21, at 9 a.m. Solid waste pickup will remain on a normal schedule.
Juneteenth commemorates June 19, 1865, when Major General Gordan Granger, arrived in Galveston, Texas, with news that the civil war had ended and the enslaved were free.
To celebrate, Indian Trail is partnering with the Unity House, Wingate University's multicultural center, to host a Juneteenth event on Friday, June 17, from 6-9 p.m. at Crossing Paths Park (120 Blythe Drive). The theme of the event is "A Celebration of the Arts, Education and Black Excellence: Learning Through Unity."
