The annual Indian Trail Cultural Arts Festival is fast approaching – and with it, lots of new demonstrations, vendors and exhibits will come to Carolina Courts at Chestnut Square Park.
The event, scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 23, will move inside this year to make sure wet weather doesn’t put a damper on all the fun things planned by Indian Trail Parks and Recreation. Along with all the great, local cultural arts vendors who have become fan favorites over the years – like local legend Accordion Lou – the upcoming event also will bring a new martial arts demonstration, 1940s- and 50s-style crooner Joey Santo, free Latin dance lessons, a giant dragon sculpture made of balloons and much more.
“The Cultural Arts Festival is always one of the most fun events we put on, and this year will be no different,” Indian Trail Culture and Arts Program Coordinator Susan Didier said. “Indian Trail’s been on the map for 110 years now, and we love taking the time every year to celebrate the history and culture of our town and this great region by highlighting what our talented local artists, crafters, singers, dancers and everyone else has to offer!”
More information on the event can be found at the Indian Trail Parks and Recreation Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/events/1151900741588672. Chestnut Square Park is located at 320 Chestnut Pkwy.
