
The Indian Trail Town Council approved an initiative developed by Mayor Pro Tem Jeff Goodall on January 12, 2010. The purpose of the initiative is to help businesses (existing and new) succeed during the current economic crisis.

Moratorium of Business Fees: All fees associated with the application and development of new businesses within the Town of Indian Trail are temporarily waived for the period of ONE (1) year, starting January 13, 2010.

* Moratorium of Business Fees expires January 12, 2011
* Does not apply to tax requirements
* Does not apply to any required State or County fees, permits, or applications
Moratorium of Certain Signage Regulations: Several sign regulations are now temporarily waived, so as to allow for additional promotional banner display, and unlimited time restrictions.
* Moratorium on time limitations of Temporary Signs and Promotional Banners
* Moratorium on the maximum number of Promotional Banners within a Multi-tenant Center(currently limited to 2 banners)
* Allow for the display of a maximum of 2 banners per business at any given time
* Moratorium of the 30 day restriction for Grand Opening and Going out of Business singage
Business Advisory Committee: This advisory committee has been established to represent business owners' concerns and interests within Indian Trail.

Historic Business District: Centered around Indian Trail's Historic Downtown Center, this District will serve to enhance and promote the history of downtown Indian Trail.

Indian Trail Business Nuisance Ordinance: This ordinance serves to enhance the safety and unobstructed passage of customer pedestrian traffic by discouraging non-consumer loitering
