Welcome to the Town of Indian Trail, one of the fastest growing communities in North Carolina. What began as an outpost on a 17th Century trading route called the “Indian trail” could soon be the largest municipality in Union County. Our town celebrated its centennial in 2007, and descendents of the early settlers now welcome newcomers to our town with southern hospitality.
People have come to Indian Trail from all over, attracted by: lower taxes, the family oriented small town atmosphere, and quality Union County Public Schools. Here, northern accents are as common as southern accents. Our town is located just a few miles outside of the city of Charlotte, NC. We are close to all the amenities that a large city has to offer, including professional and college sports teams. Public transportation runs express bus service into the downtown business district on weekdays. The greater Charlotte area boasts a robust economy with many employment opportunities.
People of all ages can find a lot to appreciate in Indian Trail. It is a great place to raise a family or retire. Our town offers many housing options at a wide range of price points. From large subdivisions with many amenities, to rural settings, you can find the right place to call home. Two major health care systems operate nearby, providing excellent options for care.
Our town is a growing and dynamic town, but also a place where neighbors get to know each other and where folks still wave at strangers passing by. Come visit us and see why I think Indian Trail is one of the best places to live in America.
