Dennis Gay was elected to the Indian Trail Town Council in November of 2021 for a four-year term. He was also named the primary delegate for the Charlotte Regional Transportation Planning Organization (CRTPO) at the Dec. 14, 2021, Town Council Meeting.
Council Member Gay is a supporter of small businesses and economic development in Indian Trail. His focus is to slow residential growth and increase commercial and light industrial growth to maintain a healthy balance for the Town. Commercial and light industrial businesses will also bring higher-paying jobs to the Town, providing more opportunities for people who live in Indian Trail to also work here. He wants to be a representative for all the residents of Indian Trail.
In addition to serving on the Town Council, Council Member Gay has served on the Stormwater Committee and was the chairman of the Planning Board. He is also a member of the Indian Trail Lion’s Club.
Council Member Gay is a lifelong resident of Indian Trail. He graduated from Sun Valley High School and went on to attend Appalachian State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology and a minor in Business Administration. He has traveled to China and across Europe working in international trade for the steel industry.
