On Tuesday, Feb. 13, the Mayor and Town Council and former Council Member Marcus McIntyre broke ground on the Chestnut Square Park Phase 2A project. The project includes:
- An additional parking lot
- On-street parking
- Relocation of the existing stormwater pond
- A boardwalk over the pond
- Paved and accessible walking paths
This project is the first major addition to the Town’s park system since the completion of Crooked Creek Park in 2015. As Indian Trail continues to grow, we are always exploring how we can enhance the Town’s services and amenities to meet the needs of the community. The Town is also planning Phase 2B for Chestnut Square Park, which will include a multi-use field and other amenities pending design approval and sewer allocation from Union County.
Construction on Phase 2A of the project is scheduled to begin in the spring. For more information about the project, visit https://indiantrail.org/627/Chestnut-Square-Park-Phase-2A.
