Santa will be doing one final Naughty vs. Nice check on Sunday, Dec. 3, in Indian Trail, as the IT’s A Wonderful Life Christmas Parade and Festival returns to town.
And this year, Mr. Claus got different directions for navigating Downtown Indian Trail. While the parade will begin as normal on Post Office Drive at 4 p.m., this year’s festivities will stop short of the train tracks – taking a right-hand turn onto Matthews-Indian Trail Road, passing the new Indian Trail Town Hall and wrapping around Chestnut Square Park. The new route will allow even more festivities than normal for families to come out and enjoy!
New this year for IT’s A Wonderful Life will be a real sledding hill, a holiday trackless train and a tree-lighting extravaganza at Chestnut Square Park. Crowd favorite fun and games will be returning, as will the free photos with Santa and much more.
“We’ve been in touch with Santa, and he’s promised us this is going to be the best Christmas Parade of all time,” Indian Trail Event Coordinator Hayden Kramer said. “This is definitely something you do not want to miss, so head down to Chestnut Square Park and settle in for a day full of great fun!”
The parade begins at 4 p.m. (an hour later than years past), and will be followed at the park by various Christmas activities and the tree lighting at dusk. Festivities will wrap up around 7:30 p.m. Chestnut Square Park is located at 320 Chestnut Pkwy.
