It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Indian Trail’s parks.
Visitors to Chestnut Square Park (320 Chestnut Pkwy.) and Crooked Creek Park (5900 Oakwood Lane) will be greeted by a Christmas light display from now until shortly after Christmas. The lights were installed by local company WeHangChristmasLights.com, and are just one of the many things Indian Trail is doing this year to celebrate the holidays.
“We hope all our Indian Trail families will get a chance to check out the Christmas lights at Chestnut Square and Crooked Creek,” Indian Trail Parks and Recreation Director Jay Tryon said. “We’re definitely in the Christmas spirit already, and we have a lot of cool events coming up to celebrate the season! So check out our website and Facebook page to see everything that’s going on, and make sure you come out to the IT’s A Wonderful Life Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting on Dec. 3.”
In addition to the Christmas lights and parade, the Indian Trail Parks and Recreation Department has a number of events taking place in December open for registration. Elf in the Woods will take place on Thursday, Dec. 7, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Chestnut Square Park (open for kids ages 2 to 5 years old). Breakfast with Santa will take place Saturday, Dec. 9, from 9 to 11 a.m. at new Town Hall (open to all ages). And a Christmas Mini Chefs class will take place on Thursday, Dec. 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Cultural Arts Center (for kids ages 3 to 5 years old). Space is limited for these events, and parents should register online at www.itsparksandrec.com or by calling 704-821-5401.
