[ARCHIVED] Residents encouraged to identify Priority road projects

A map showing potential road projects around Indian Trail

Indian Trail residents are encouraged to take part in a new online survey from the North Carolina Department of Transportation that will be used to prioritize potential transportation projects in our area.

The NCDOT is currently looking for resident feedback about the 2020-2029 State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) and what priorities local residents have for future transportation projects. The survey, which is available online at https://ncdot-stip.metroquest.com/#!/?p=web&u=ncdot-stip.metroquest.com&pm=dynamic&theme=v7, shows a map of planned projects across the Charlotte region – including Union County. Participants can click on an outlined project and chose if it is a “priority project” for the participant. Comments also can be left regarding each project.

Indian Trail residents should select Union County when prompted, and can then zoom in and click on the highlighted projects – selecting “Yes” if that is a priority project for them. After selecting all of their priority projects, participants should select “Finish” in the right-hand column and enter their contact information to complete the survey.

Projects listed in the Indian Trail area include: the widening of Old Monroe Road; a sidewalk on Indian Trail-Fairview Road; the widening of Wesley Chapel-Stouts Road; bicycle lanes and neighborhood connections in Brandon Oaks; and the Price Mill Creek Greenway.

The STIP is focused on state transportation projects. The Town of Indian Trail has additional transportation projects it is currently working on.
